Latest Transfer News
From what the rumors say, it looks like Louis van Gaal wants Angel Di Maria at Manchester United.
He is a top player who had a fantastic season in Real Madrid's Champions League winning season. He no doubt was one of the key players in their successful season. Personally I feel he is underrated, just because his talent is shadowed by the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and Luka Modric. These are by far few of the best players in the La Liga.
I think Di Maria is a great buy for Manchester United but the question is will he come due to lack of European football at Old Trafford?
He has pace and the ability to run past defenders. He has terrific crossing abilities and has the vision to put the ball in the box exactly at the place that causes trouble for the defenders and the keeper.

Arturo Vidal:
Looking at our performances last season, it is evident that Manchester United need to strengthen their midfield. Vidal would be a fantastic add on to the squad and he can form a formidable partn ership with Herrera, dominating play. Vidal is a box to box midfielder who has fantastic defensive capabilities as well; this could come in handy as United lack a quality midfielder who can defend and support the defense as well. Box to box midfielders are the engine of the team and Vidal would be a perfect buy
Another option would be Kevin Strootam but even though he has the same qualities his injury makes him unavailable to play till atleast November.

Mats Hummels
United very much need a strong back four and with the departure of Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic, the holes in the defense are evident. Hummels would be a great buy. He is strong, good in the air and isn't scared to stick his body into a tackle. Signing him from Borussia Dortmund would be hard as prying away someone from Champions League football will be Manchester United's biggest challenge

THE REBUILDING BEGINS

Woodward definitely doesn't want a repeat of last seasons transfer window.
With the signings of Luke Shaw and Ander Herrera, United look the strengthen the squad. But is it enough?
I personally feel, we need more players. Although Herrera is a good buy he cannot fill the gap left by Paul Scholes. A centre defensive mid is needed to fit alongside Herrera
A new winger is desperately needed and players like Ashley Young and Tom Cleverley NEED to go. They are more of a hindrance to the squad than a success.
The departure of Vidic and Ferdinand has left a huge hole in the defense. Phil Jones and Jonny Evans are good players but alongside them we need an experienced centre back. Rumour has it that Vermaelen is coming to Old Trafford.
Another major problem is the abundance of top players in the CAM position - Rooney, Mata and Kagawa.
How does van Gaal plan on adjusting the squad so that he can bring out the best in all of them? All United fans just have to hope for the best
I feel the next season or two should be utilized in building and stabilizing the squad that will be good enough to once again challenge among the elite but that doesn't mean that we stop aiming to win! Get back Champions League and once again strike fear into the hearts of our opponents once the realize that they will be playing Manchester United is what I feel should be our basic aims

The 2013-2014 season was undoubtedly the worst season, Manchester United have had in the last 20 years. True, there was a big transition from Alex Ferguson - one of the greatest managers the world has seen, after 26 years to a new manager oblivious to the 'United Way'. Still that is no excuse for the team to be finishing 7th after they were crowned champions the season before. One good thing that came out of this season was that it helped distinguish the true fans from the plastic ones.
Every United fan is excited with the new manager - Louis van Gaal.
But the question we must ask is can he fire us back to our glory?
